A physical and digital exhibition
What are NFTs?
NFTs are certificates of authenticity associated with virtual objects that they thus make unique, here the digitized paintings of NOIR Artist. Even though their contents may be copied, the NFT itself still remains "the original", just as there are countless reproductions of the Mona Lisa but the original painting remains the one hanging in the Louvre. These virtual boards are traceable using the same blockchain technology used for bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
NFTs have become must-have lots at major auction houses. Christie's New York, for example, sold a digital work by the artist Beeple in March 2021 for the record sum of $69.3 million. If this market is in its infancy, and it is very likely that the next few months will see the birth of new concepts of NFT platforms.
